Can these findings
actually be compared?

Bring research claims back to their evidence. Compare study context, inspect exact quotations, and keep differences in population, measurement, and design visible in your brief.

No account or API key required. Your source text stays in this page until you export or share it.

01 / SOURCE

A passage you can return to.

“An exact excerpt from your source.”
02 / INTERPRETATION

Write the claim. Record what the passage does — and does not — establish.

03 / REVIEWABLE BRIEF

Claim · source locator · quotation · limitation · review status

Illustration of the workflow, not a research result.

Trace the passage

Every evidence row includes an exact quotation and source line range.

Keep the uncertainty

Record limitations beside the claim, where a reviewer can see them.

Carry the work forward

Export a brief, evidence CSV, project JSON, or a manual Claude prompt.

A deliberate research workflow

Separate disagreement from a different experiment.

Two findings may look inconsistent while studying different populations, outcomes, or conditions. CiteWoven keeps those distinctions beside the source evidence so a reviewer can decide what can be compared.

01 / Collect

Bring your source text.

Paste excerpts or load a .txt/.md file. Add the document title, reference link, and study context.

02 / Connect

Attach evidence to a claim.

Select a source and quote it exactly. The workspace checks the text match and records its line range.

03 / Compare & review

Ask what differs.

Compare the context you entered. Review differences and missing fields before combining findings into a brief.

A concrete use case. A researcher reviewing two AI evaluation papers needs to know whether they use the same test population and define “accuracy” the same way. In the current workspace, the researcher records those fields and inspects their differences. In the planned Claude workflow, document citations will accompany suggested extractions, which the researcher will still review.

Development direction

Building toward source-grounded AI.

Claude is the planned model provider for document-based synthesis. The browser workspace provides the evidence structure; the next phase adds server-side document citations and evaluates the results with human review.

About CiteWoven

Focused on the work behind a research claim.

Official launch planned for March 2027

CiteWoven is a research software project led by Youngze Kim in Seoul, South Korea.

The project began on August 2, 2026, and the first website was published on August 15, 2026. We are developing a practical workflow for keeping research claims close to their source material. The current browser prototype is available to try; Claude-assisted synthesis is the next development phase.

Project timeline

Development, with a clear next step.

Project begins

Development begins with a focus on traceable research evidence.

First website published

The first project website goes online.

Browser release prepared

Evidence workspace, study-context comparison, file inputs, and project exports implemented and checked locally.

Official launch

Planned: Claude-assisted extraction and synthesis, researcher evaluation, and a public product release.

Practical questions

Before you start.

Does CiteWoven automatically analyze my documents with Claude?

This release organizes source text and evidence in the browser. It can prepare a prompt for you to review and use in Claude manually. A server-side Claude integration is planned; this site does not make automatic AI requests.

Can I save my work and come back later?

Use Save project JSON to download your sources, evidence rows, and research question. Open that JSON to continue in the workspace. This release does not provide a cloud account or automatic browser storage.

What does the quotation check establish?

It establishes that the exact quotation appears in the supplied source text and records its line range. It does not verify the publication, the truth of the claim, or whether the passage supports your interpretation.

Can I use Google Scholar here?

The workspace can open a Google Scholar search for your research question. Search takes place on Google Scholar; results are not automatically imported. Choose accessible sources and add excerpts you have permission to use.

Your workspace data

Your sources and evidence stay in this page until you download, copy, or share them. Save a project JSON before reloading to keep your work. This release has no automatic AI upload or cloud storage.
